Ten Geeky Technologies Not Coming to Our House

We may revel in our geekdom, but we have limits. Some of the more popular technology gadgets or software that don't have any place in our home, for various reasons, are below. After all, it's one thing to be nuts about technology, quite another to just be nuts. Here, we draw the line.

1. Skype or VoIP
2. Twitter
3. Linux
4. Plaxo
5. MySpace, BeBo, Piczo and the rest
6. Xbox, PS3 or Wii
7. AIM, ICQ, Jabber, Yahoo! IM or GTalk
8. Del.icio.us
9. Flickr
10. EV-DO

  2. Hi Louis,

I work with Molly, Kristin, and Jeannette and they just pointed out your blog to me. Great stuff! Although I do have to say I use Flikr for my online photo storage and I *love* it. It took awhile for me to get used to since I had been using Shutterfly, Snapfish, and Ofoto for so long, but now it's the only online photo hosting site I use. I do agree that I could do without Xbox, PS3, or Wii however.

  3. Dear quasi-anonymous,

MSN Messenger is in the same camp as AIM, Yahoo! IM, etc. Last month I wrote about why I stopped using IM, and won't take on Twitter.
